Scripture is the Word of God. The Bible is God's revelation of His truth, promises, and hope to this world. Many people dismiss God because they feel as if they cannot trust the Bible. They will refuse to listen or consider Christ because the Bible seems so fictional to them. Some people will have never heard the Bible discussed as "true", much less have heard evidence on Scripture's behalf. When Christians know and can defend the trustworthiness of the Bible, we not only strengthen our faith, but are also able to remove that stumbling Black from unbelievers. The Bible is sixty-six Books by over forty authors written over 1500 years across many cultures, countries, and eras. A detailing of God’s creation, man’s fall, and the ultimate redemptive plan for salvation. Those of faith rely on the teachings and truths held within this book not only for their hope in today and their next breath, but also for their eternal hope. Skeptics and nonbelievers see this book as a fabricated fairytale of obsolete, out of touch teachings and beliefs that may once have been valid for a people and culture, but that time has long sense past. As Christians we hold the belief that the Bible is the word of God. We put our faith in Christ, and we believe in God and His word...His word we read and our taught from the Bible. What is it and why do we trust it?  I recommend these two books; the first How We Got the Bible, is written by one of my professors, Dr. Timothy Paul Jones. He wrote this with the intention of providing an easy read which would educate people in where their Bible came from. This book is useful from student to senior. The other, Evidence That Demands a Verdict, is a must have for any Christian. This work is a bit more text book in style, but covers every topic one could imagine. I have both the hard bound and the audio version. Both books will serve you well as initial reads, but also as sources of reference throughout the years.
". . . and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen." - Matthew 28:20
