This video takes a look at the debate over the Age of the Earth. We aren't going into detail on the various views, but rather the discussion in general. I have had my faith and devotion to God questioned several times by "well-meaning" folks simply for asking "why?" There is a reason for this. The ramifications for each view is staggering to the faith. The problem is that Christians are hard pressed to calmly discuss or debate the various ideas and interpretations of the various views. This passion has in some cases, relegated "Age of the Earth" as a topic removed from the table of discussion. As such, we have a growing population of believers that have little to no background on this aspect of their faith. Is it worth the argument? Should Christians divide over it? How can we educate and become informed without driving a wedge between believers.
(From Amazon) "The authors of this book demonstrate from the history of theology and science controversy that believers are entitled to differ over this issue, while still taking a stand against theistic evolution. But by carefully and constructively breaking down the controversy bit by bit, they show why the age issue is the wrong place to draw a line in the sand." Dr. Ted Cabal (one of my professors) has written a book on this very topic in great detail.
This is a short (16 minutes) and pretty good take on Creation. Worth a watch.
This is video is a full on movie of an hour and forty-four minutes. It's worth every minute. This give you a Young Earth take that is fascinating, informative, and entertaining. Dr. Dell Tacket is the author of the Truth Project.
". . . and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen." - Matthew 28:20
